Secure Your Bitcoin
with third-party cosigning for multisignature wallets

How it Works

  1. Create a multisignature wallet using your BitPay or Copay app.
  2. Connect ScriptSig as a cosigner to the wallet by using the invitation code generated by your app.
  3. To spend your bitcoin, you'll initiate a transaction from your wallet app, then approve the transaction from your ScriptSig account.

For custom integrations please refer to our HTTP API documentation.

Why use a third-party cosigner? Defense-in-depth

Security and custody of bitcoin is an exercise in managing the risks associated with loss or theft of private keys. An effective custody solution must address and be resilient to one or more parties being susceptible to supply-chain attacks, zero-day exploits, natural disasters, and negligence.

Storing bitcoin in a multisignature address with a third-party cosigner can effectively manage these risks by distributing trust among independent parties to successfully mitigate the impact of a compromise of one or more private keys.

Security

Earning and keeping our customers' trust is our top priority. Every technical and operational decision is filtered through the lens of security. Here's a few of industry-standard practices we use to keep your information private and secure.

Minimal-trust

We never have enough control over your bitcoin to unilaterally authorize or block a transaction. We are just one part of your entire custody solution.

Use us as a key backup/recovery solution, an extra layer of security for your everyday wallet activites, or both.
